I honestly don't remember much about Danny Jackson pitching for the Phils in '93. What I do remember is him ripping his shirt off during the NL East and NLCS clinching celebrations and doing his best "pump you up" imitation. If I'm not mistaken, he recreated this routine during the team's 10-year reunion in 2003.
I saw Danny Jackson pitch for the Philies at the old Vet in 1993. Jackson won and Pete Incaviglia hit a home run.
ReplyDeleteJackson had two good years with the Phillies, going 12-11 in 1993 and 14-6 in 1994. This got him a 3-year, $10 million contract with the Cardinals. He was 2-12 with the Cardinals in 1995, then he got hurt. In 1996 he was 1-1 for the Cardinals. 1997 was his last year. He started with the Cardinals going 1-2. He was traded during the season with two other players to the Padres for Fernando Valenzuela and 2 players. He was 1-7 with the Padres.
