I'm skipping ahead a little (2009 Chachi cards #10 to #29 are coming soon), but today was a very cool day. The Phillies received their 2008 World Series Champions rings. Pat Burrell and Geoff Jenkins came back for the ceremony as did (mysteriously) Adam Eaton. Former GM Pat Gillick openly wept on the field.
After the ring ceremony, Joe Blanton imploded and the Phils were behind to the Braves, 10-3 after 6 innings. Which seemed like a good time to leave to go home . . . Except the Phils scored 8 runs in the 7th to mount an improbable comeback. Years from now, we'll tell everyone we stayed for the entire game.
Sweetness! Do you have a larger version too?
ReplyDeleteDave - I think the links are working again, so you should be able to click on the card for a larger image.
