2012 Topps Chrome #103 Cliff Lee

Phillies 3, Mets 1
Game 148 - Monday Night, September 17th in Flushing
Record - 74-74, 3rd Place, 16 games behind the Nationals

One Sentence Summary:  Cliff Lee pitched a gem and the offense managed to come up with just enough off Mets starter R.A. Dickey to give the Phillies a 3-1 win over the Mets.

What It Means:  The Phillies are 3 1/2 games behind the Cardinals for the second Wild Card with 14 games to play.  They'll need to win just about every game from here on out and hope for losing streaks from the Dodgers (1 game out), the Brewers and the Pirates (both 2 1/2 games out).

What Went Right:  Lee allowed just one run over eight innings while striking out 10.  His strike out of Jason Bay in the second was the 1,500th K of his career.  Jonathan Papelbon pitched a perfect ninth for his 35th save.

Jimmy Rollins and Domonic Brown both hit solo home runs for the Phils.

Featured Card:  I feel as if this blog is clearly lacking in Chrome representation.  To help remedy that problem, here is Lee's card from this year's very shiny and fingerprint-prone Topps Chrome release.
